Happy Endings - Success Stories

This network was created to help unify the joint efforts of every Shar-pei rescue, whether group or privately adopted. While some cases may have more difficult challenges or obstacles to report, any and all Shar-pei rescuers are welcome to submit their special stories that have truly made a difference in a dog's or family's life.

JULY 2007

KINGSTON, GEORGIA

ADOPTED: Lauren: 3 year old female ID#171537-07

Thanks to Dog Pack Rescue Inc. for assisting in this dog's adoption.

MESA, ARIZONA

ADOPTED: Myrtle was on death row at the county shelter, due to a very easily correctible eye problem. She has "cherry eye" and it will be remedied shortly by our rescue. She's a very sweet, calm, loving dog. Myrtle has such a cute, funny face!! She loves people, is a little shy at first, but quickly warms up. She gets along fine with other dogs.

ADOPTED: Monkeyshine looks mostly shar pei, but is a lot smaller than most. He weighs about 28 pounds at most. He is so cute, and so funny looking. He is very playful, loves toys, runs around with them in his mouth, and likes to play with people too. He's got a lot of personality.

Thanks to Lucky Dog Rescue for assisting in these dogs' adoptions.

WALLA WALLA, WASHINGTON

ADOPTED: Chubbo is a lean, muscular 2 year old pure bred. There hasn't been a dog he hasn't liked. He is obedient and easy going.

Thanks to Save Wonderful Animals Team for assisting in this dog's adoption.

FAIRMONT, MINNESOTA

ADOPTED: Zoey is a 3 year old Shar Pei. She is allergic to chicken, so would need a special food. She is housetrained, spayed, and up to date on shots. She walks well on a leash, is very playful, and likes baths.

Thanks to the Martin County Humane Society for assisting in this dog's adoption.

SWANSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA

ADOPTED:Truffles is a purebred blue shar pei that was rescued from an extremely high kill shelter. She is only about 30lbs and is already spayed. Our guess is that she is 10 months to a year old. We don't know her history since she was turned in to the shelter as a stray. She is leary of strangers but warms up quickly. Truffles is a very spunky girl who likes to pick her friends. She gets along with most anyone and ADORES children! She has been around three little boys 6, 4 and 2 and does great with them. She is also good with cats but needs to be kept in check so no declawed buddies.

Thanks to Diamonds in the Ruff NC for assisting in this dog's adoption.

SALISBURY, NORTH CAROLINA

ADOPTED - this female was found as a stray and is now at the shelter. A local volunteer let her out of her cage and she was fine with her and her 2 small children, very sweet girl. Thanks to Rowan County Animal Shelter for assisting in this dog's adoption.

BIG FLATS, NEW YORK

ADOPTED - Crystal: 3 year old female. Thanks to Elmira Animal Shelter for assisting in this dog's adoption.

SAND CREEK, MICHIGAN

ADOPTED - Olive: adult female. Thanks to Caring 4 Canines Rescue for getting this dog adopted.
