Dakota is a special needs female from the old Dominion Shar-pei Rescue who we adopted ourselves since we couldn't find anyone willing to tackle her health problems. Quite exasperating some days, she's on daily medications for a weak immune system, intolerance to yeast and bacteria, and 40 known indoor / outdoor allergies. Dakota has chronically inflamed skin, ears, eyes, and sinuses, so it seems like we are constantly treating something. When feeling good, she can be quite outgoing and playful, loves kids of all ages, other dogs and even our cats, although she's allergic to them as well. It's really a shame we couldn't have found her a home of her own, away from more of the allergens that make her so sick all the time, but now that she's quickly approaching her senior years, we are satisfied to say we've done the best we could for her overall health and general welfare.

DOB - 4/04/1999. We don't have any other history/pedigree other than being told she came from a breeder in Illinois, which cannot be confirmed or verified. We certainly hope she doesn't have many dog family / littermates with similar or worse health problems.
