Brindle Shar-Pei Example

This is a picture of our first brindle Shar-pei mix named "Liza Jane" by our rescue group. For more information about Liza, please visit her adoption page.
Brindle purebreds must follow the breed standard, only varied in the coat being a brindle pattern. Without a pedigree to verify, rescued brindle Pei can be easily misidentified as mixed with Boxer, Bulldog, or Staffordshire Terriers (if under 20 inches at the withers) and Mastiff, Great Dane, or the Canario breeds (if taller than 20 inches). The main difference is most of these other breed purebreds will have either a full white chest, white collar around the neck, and/or white sock markings on the feet, whereas most purebred brindle Shar-pei do not have any white markings.
