Chinese Shar-pei Behavior
With their independent and sometimes dominant behavior, Shar-pei can be frustrating
in social situations. Because of their instinct guard and loyal behaviors, they can be
unusually stand-offish or protectively aggressive towards strangers, which many owners don't
know how to handle or care for. Obedience classes are offered in most areas to help
novice dog handlers learn how to bond with their dog and learn
behavior modification methods
to train your dog to have an acceptable attitude.
Here are questions about Shar-pei behavior that have been brought to
my attention since creating this homepage. Please review these
questions you may not have thought to ask about for more information about the breed.
Many general questions may be answered with my canine behavior article. If you have comments or suggestions, feel free to ask additional
questions by emailing: Tina Wissen.
