REGIONAL RESCUE GROUPS: This is a featured listing of the independent rescue group in your area. Please visit their individual site for a complete list of all available pets. Please also read their adoption policies and requirements.

Operation Scarlet

Princess: Princess, along with another dog, was left alone in a home for two long days and nights. Her owner abandoned them when forced to move from his home. However, he did contact a shelter, which rescued them from the house. Princess is a very pretty fawn horsecoat Shar Pei mix, approximately 2 years old. Her world has been turned upside down. She’s lost her owner, her home and her canine buddy. She’s wondering if she’ll ever again find a home, this time for ‘keeps’.

Please visit Operation Scarlet for more information about adopting Princess. As of 7/05/08, this rescue group has a total of 6 dogs available for adoption.

Shar-pei Rescue of VA Inc.

Lilah: I am an adult female, chocolate Pei. I was one of ten Pei's dropped at the Spotsylvania VA shelter and have been pretty scared, but things are looking better since the rescue people came to save me. I have a sweet personality and love to give pei kisses. I get along with all of the dogs here and have made friends with the dogs already (that's me having a great time with one of my new buddies below). I did sleep all night in the crate and appear to be housebroken. I am scared of the leash, so will need someone with patience to work with me on that. I need shots, to be spayed, have my eyes done and have my ears checked, then will be ready for my fur-ever home.

Please visit Shar-pei Rescue of VA Inc. for Chinese Shar-pei adoptions, in PA, NJ, and VA. As of 7/05/08, this rescue group has a total of 23 dogs available for adoption.

PUBLIC ADOPTION PROFILES: Most dogs listed here may have only a few days, sometimes weeks, to find a new home. Those dogs listed in kill shelters may be in danger of euthanasia. All listings are subject to change without notice. If you can't find what you're looking for, please visit our regional rescue group for available adoptions and for help on choosing the right pet for your family.
