FOR ADOPTION BY OWNER: For the past few weeks I have been trying to place two adult Sharpei's that belong to my mother. She has been placed in Hospice and I am not able to care for both dogs. I have tried locating the original breeders (someone had told me some breeders may take their dogs back), but my mother cannot remember what she did with the AKC papers, I have had no luck short of calling every breeder in Ohio & Florida. I have reached out to a rescue shelter in Binghamton, but she will not take surrendered dogs. With my mom only having a few months left to live I am in serious need of relocating her two dogs.
Taleulah is a black colored female and is 4 years old. She is spayed and up to date on all of her vaccines. She loves to be walked on her leash in the park, but is nervous around new people. I have been working with her and she is learning, but a patient person who is great with a dog would find her ideal. She is fine with children and other small animals, but needs time to adjust to them when first introduced. She does get along with other dogs, but needs constant love, so a home that could dote on her would be beneficial. She does need some manners training - learning to sit, not jump on the furniture, and learning to not pull when walked on her leash; but learns quickly and responds to your voice. She is wonderfully tempered and loves to sit close and be petted.
Winston is a fawn/tan colored male is @ 4 years old. He is neutered and up to date on all shots. He is wonderful on a leash and is curious about his environment, so someone who is a hiker or loves to take long walks would find this dog to be a perfect companion. He is eager to please and is waiting for someone to give him direction so he can be a good dog. He does tolerate female dogs, but chooses to not really be social with them - however, he does not take to other male dogs. He is a wonderful dog and has recently spent the night with a dog handler and she has had nothing but wonderful things to say about him (her number can be supplied as a reference).
Both dogs are AKC registered, have all of their paperwork and most up to date vet information - they are treated by West End Vet in Newburgh, NY. They are also housebroken and do not chew or destroy anything in the home.
Please e-mail Tiffany Ray or call 845-542-0219 for more information. |
